Get GreetWise to answer your calls (set up call forwarding)
Forward your business number to GreetWise so it can answer all your calls, or only the ones you miss.
Updated September 29, 2026
GreetWise answers calls that are forwarded to your GreetWise number. You keep your existing business number, and your customers keep calling it like they always have.
Before you forward any calls, call your GreetWise number yourself to hear exactly what your customers will hear.
Choose how you want calls forwarded
You have three options:
- Forward all calls. GreetWise answers every call. Best if you want a receptionist on every call.
- Forward only missed calls (also called conditional forwarding). Your phone rings first, and GreetWise answers if you don't pick up or you're on another call.
- Use your GreetWise number directly. Put your GreetWise number on your website or ads as a dedicated line. No forwarding needed.
Find your GreetWise number
- Log in to GreetWise.
- Open Agent settings and go to Launch.
- Your GreetWise number is shown at the top, along with step-by-step forwarding instructions for your carrier.
Turn on forwarding from a mobile phone
Most US carriers use dial codes. Open your phone app, dial the code with your GreetWise number (no spaces or dashes), and press call.
| Carrier | Forward all calls | Forward missed/busy calls | Turn off |
|---|---|---|---|
| AT&T, T-Mobile | **21* + number + # |
**004* + number + # |
##21# or ##004# |
| Verizon | *72 + number |
*71 + number |
*73 |
Carriers sometimes change their codes, and business lines can differ. If a code doesn't work, use the instructions shown in the app for your carrier, or ask your carrier to enable call forwarding on your line.
Turn on forwarding from a landline or VoIP system
Office phone systems (like RingCentral, Google Voice, or your cable provider's business line) set up forwarding in their admin settings rather than with dial codes. Look for Call forwarding, Call handling, or Answering rules, and enter your GreetWise number as the destination.
Check that it's working
- From a different phone, call your business number.
- If you set up conditional forwarding, let it ring without answering.
- GreetWise should pick up. After the call, you'll see it in your call log and get a summary if alerts are turned on.
If GreetWise doesn't answer, double-check the number you entered and that forwarding is turned on with your carrier.
